3rd January 2015

Well the New Year is underway and although I have been up in Norfolk for the past 5 days birding opportunities have been limited. That said I did manage to see a good percentage of the birds that are wintering on the east coast. However I wasn’t able to make the most of the two sunny days we had due to the fact that my lens is in for repair as it’s autofocus motor had packed up. I thought I would try digi-scoping with my smart phone. This wasn’t as easy as my normal digi-scoping kit Swarovski bracket and Coolpix camera. So I must apologise for the quality of the photos below, the subjects make up for the poor quality.

There was a flock of Snow Buntings on my local beach that increased from 10 on the Monday to 42 by Thursday.

A little further down the coast at Horsey it is possible to enjoy amazing views of a mainland Grey Seal colony.
