18th October

Norfolk 17th & 18th October

I have just had a week in Norfolk, where even though it was awash with birds I only had limited time to bird. For that reason my target birds were Isabelline and Great Grey Shrike. There were possible at least 3 of the former and god knows how many Great Greys. I think if you had time to bird thoroughly you stood a good chance of connecting with one, I did manage to find my own bird. I went for the Sheringham Isabelline Shrike early this morning but the poor light and light rain meant no photo, the Great Grey after a bit of a search was a bit more obliging.

The Great Grey Shrike is just about visible
