Sparrowhawk: a pair were displaying above the Woodland Gardens.

Lesser Spotted Woodpecker: birds were very vocal this morning, shame I was busy working to take advantage of the situation.

Skylark: 14 birds in 2 areas.

Meadow Pipit: 18 south of Upper Lodge Road and 6 on grassland in the south-east corner of the park.

Redwing: 40 birds scattered around the western side of the park.

Chiffchaff: 3 birds were singing.

Lesser Redpoll: the flock was still present at the northern end of the Woodland Gardens.

Siskin: Still some with the redpolls as well as in the Canal Plantation.

Female Nuthatch making the finishing touches to her nest site. Fingers crossed they will keep the parakeets away.

20 Mar: Similar weather to last two days (fair, with light W breeze but no ground frost like yesterday) so any new migrants aren't dropping in to sight-see.

Little Owl (my first!) seen just before daybreak at 05.50, silently half-gliding on wingtips like a grey-brown ghost from area 32, landing on top of middle, sawn-off ash just SE of cricket pen (area 31).

Coal Tit singing in tall cedar just in from E gate of Queen Mary's Gardens, area 16; Goldcrest still singing from hillside yew near pond.

Chiffchaffs in areas 1 (Winfield House garden), 2, 14, 31 and 40; Blackcap in area 2.
