27th February

Jack Snipe: One was flushed from an island and flew to the wetland pool in area 25.
Common Snipe: One flew in to the Long Bridge sanctuary, area 26 at 11.50am.
Goosander: The female is still present in area 26, occasionally flying to main lake.

Monday, February 20, 2006

20th February

Peregrine Falcon: A very high male, flew north at 10.40am.
Jackdaw: 1 bird flew SW at 10.50am.
Pied Wagtail: 9 birds fed on the football pitches.
Goosander: The female was again present with the collection birds, area 26.
Great Crested Grebe: 4 birds on the lake.
Little Grebe: 2 birds on the lake.
Sparrowhawk: The male stooped at the feeding station in area 29 from a great hight.

19th February

Jackdaw: 2 birds flew SW at 10.00 am

18th February

Goosander: the female is still present, and shows in area 26.
Jackdaw: 3 birds flew SW mid morning.

15th February

Water Rail: One ran across the path into the wetland pen at 6.25am. area 25.
Goosander: The female is still present and when in area 25 comes to feed on the sea duck pellets
when we feed the waterfowl.
Redwing: 25 feeding on gloucester green area 21.

Thursday, February 09, 2006

9th February

Goosander: female present on the main lake by island nos 5 all day.
Common Teal: 4 birds.
European Wigeon: 3 birds.
Gadwall: 32 birds.
Red Crested Pochard: 28 fully winged birds:
Mandarin Duck: 18 birds around the edge of island nos 5.
Shoveler: 28 birds present:
Cackling Canada: One fully winged bird has been present since July 2005.

8th February

Goosander: female again inthe Longbridge sanctuary with the collection Gooks, area 26.
Fieldfare: 107 flew north-east in two groups (80, 27) between 8.00am and 8.15am.
Redwing: 20 birds still feeding in area 21.
Common Teal: 4 birds around island 5 all day.
Gadwall: 31 around island 5.

5th February

Woodcock: Seen at 6.35 am feeding in Queen Mary's on the delphinium border.
Fieldfare: 60 birds flew north at 10.45 am.

Friday, February 03, 2006

3rd February

Woodcock: One feeding in rose bed in Queen Mary's at 6.10am.
Siskin:A male in the wetland enclosure, area 25 with 5 Goldfinches.
Sparrowhawks: A pair displaying over Hanover Island, area 1.

1st February

Common Teal: 5 birds on the lake opposite The Holme, 3 drakes 2 ducks.
Redwing: 22 feeding on Gloucester Green.
