27th June

Hanover reed bed

Reed Warbler: There are two pairs with recently fledged young by Hanover Bridge, area 2.
Reed Bunting: 1 pair still in area 25.
Kestrel: The three young in area 25 are showing well.
Grey Wagtail: 1 by the lake
Black-headed Gull: 6 birds on the lake.

23rd June

Reed Bunting: 1 pair in the wetland, area 25.
Kestrel: One pair in area 25 with 3 recently fledged young, the fourth fledgling died probably
because of the recent strong winds.
Black-headed Gull: 1 over the lake, this is the time of year they begin to return to the park.
There are good numbers of Dragon and damselflies in the reed beds and wetland area.

18th June

Kestrel: A second pair is nesting in a box on Primrose Hill, area 36.
Common Whitethroat: An unusual record of a female in area 29. Could it be part of a pair?

15th June

Kestrel: The 4 Chicks are now feathering up, with most of the down gone.
Common Tern: 1 was present over the lake at 10.00am.

If anyone has any news on the Peregrines in Central London could you please contact me on my email address listed on the yahoo london birders site. As I have some questions to ask, that cannot be viewed publicly incase the information goes to the wrong persons.

Reed Bunting: 2 birds still present in areas 2 & 26.
Kestrel: The 4 young are progressing well.
Great Spotted Woodpecker: 3 nest have been robbed by Magpies. 10 pairs at least have nested.

Kestrel: 1 pair has 4 young, the other pair not yet known if bred.
Reed Warbler: 7 singing birds now present. 3 in area 2, 1 in area 10 and 3 in area 26. This is the highest number of singing males ever recorded in the park Posted by Picasa
